well, i found this sweet tutorial that connected a few dots in the head for me - [link] mainly the part about 'clipping masks' and the weird enrich color trick at the end was sorta neat to learn.

that, plus doing research to get better line quality - i ended up buying felt tip nibs for my tablet pen (so there's more drag, and less slippage/squiggles when i'm trying to draw straight) and i used the smallest brush size possible to lessen the appearance of 'squigglies' when i tried the digital ink thing - i hear 'digital inking' sucks in photoshop, but that's all i've got to work with, so i might as well figure some solutions out, eh?

oh, and i've been trying to follow 's process for coloring, since he's obviously the man - [link] i don't know if he still does things the same way, but yeah, i sorta loosely try to follow the process in tutorial - good stuff.

yeah i think i need to check me out some more tutorials coz im buggered if im gonna figure this painting thing out on my own!! i checked out that tutorial u sent me a link for, no pun intended, and yeah thats some amazing shit. i wish i had more time to invest into practising that sort of thing. ive seen pacmans tutorial before, its helped but i kinda lost the hang of being able to do it from not practising frequently enough, hopefully ill pick it up soon, but yeah id say keep doing what youre doing man!!
